Deco Tiles

With my parent's 25th wedding anniversary this week, I decided to do a design with silver incorporated into it.

I used two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White as a base. I then used black paint and a thin striper paint brush to paint on a single vertical line down the middle with horizontal lines off of the median to create large tiles.

I then used Revlon Parfumerie Spun Sugar, Sinful Colors Silver Screen, and a glittery- chrome, teal-emerald polish that I bought in a bazaar in Pakistan six years back. I used the polish brushes to fill in some of the white space of the tiles with one to two coats.

Once dried, I use a single coat of NYC's Matte Me Crazy.

Triangle Print

New Year, new designs!

This fall I transferred to a new university, so I have had zero time for nails. I rarely had polish on in the past few months. Hopefully I can do more nail art in 2017!

I used two coats of wet n wild's Haze of Love which is a spot on burgundy polish. I added an additional coat when hair lines showed up on the polish in the morning.

I used a striper brush to create the lines and I a small bristled brush to paint in the triangles with NYC's Crown Gold which is a gorgeous dark gold with subtle
glitter in it. I used a small dotting tool to add dots of Haze of Love onto the central line.

Formation

I'M BACK!!
And after five months of bare, naked nails, I have finally put some polish on!

Reasons:
1. My stressful semester is over
2. BEYONCÉ

The Queen.
Last night.
Minneapolis.
The Formation World Tour.

What..

Obviously, nails had to be done for Yoncé

I used two coats of Sinful Colors Black on Black as the base and went in with white paint to write out FORMATION. My sister helped me out with painting on my right hand. After that I grabbed some gold glitter and a clear polish. I applied the clear to a section of a letter and placed flakes down with a small paint brush so they would stick.

When the clear dried, I covered everything with NYC's Matte Me Crazy.

 The Queen forever reigns.

World Map

Happy holidays, everyone! I hope this time of the year is especially filled with family, love, and blessings. This post is not about nail art, but on the Christmas present that my sister and I created for a best friend.

My friend gave us a worn in pair of white sneakers from Old Navy with the request that we make them look like an old map.

I sponged on the old map background with acrylics - off white, yellow, brown, and black - with a small piece of sponge  On the parts of her shoes that had dirt spots, I  splotched on the darker paints.

So, the shoe on the bottom was the starting point; what we were given to work with. The shoe on the top was about 40 minutes into the sponging. I realized that it didn't look at all like ancient paper.

I ended up applying the paint with a wet sponge so the paint would blend together smoothly, and I added more off white and brown to dim down the yellow.

Once the background dried, my sister took over to do the finer details. She began by drawing everything out in pencil and then went over it in black acrylic.

Australia outlined in yellow

Northern Africa outlined in green

My sister and I are floored by how great these turned out! Totally would have kept them if they were my size.. Kidding of course..!

Snowflakes

Finals are over and the first thing I did to begin a few weeks of mental downtown was nail art.

I used two coats of Sinful Colors' Tokyo Pearl which is a really pretty pearly white polish. It is really transparent so you have to use at least three coats if you want it to stand on its own.

I used Tokyo Pearl, Wet n Wild's Rain Check, and Poparazzi's Glam Factor to do a dry marble over Tokyo Pearl.  I took a piece of wax paper and put a drop of each polish  next to each other. You then fold the wax paper to mix the polishes together as much as you want and press it onto your nail. Really easy and a whole lot cleaner than water marbling.

With the dry marble done and dry, I used Sinful Colors' Black on Black to stamp on the two snowflake pictured below.
