Spring Tribal

Phew. After a super fun and busy week with friends, I finally had time to sit down and do my neglected nails!

This is the first time that I have experimented with negative space, and there is a lot of it in in this design. It was easy in the sense that I only used Wet n Wild's clear coat and orange, green, and white acrylic paint.

I laid down a coat of clear and when it fully dried, I free-handed random designs radiating off from the half moons of my nails. Clear coat to seal the paint down.

Pentatonix

I am so behind! I went to the Pentatonix concert on the 7th with my sister and my friend Bekka. It was incredible! They're amazing live and at times I forgot that they were acapella. My only disappointment was that the balcony was dead.. Here are the nails that I did for the concert!

I used two coats of wet wild's Black Crème. I went in with watered down white paint to write PTX on my nails. I tried doing their logo on my thumb, but it was a flop.

I used Sinful Colors' Love Nails to add a blue into white gradient on the lower part of each letter of the larger PTX. I used Love Nails and wet n wild's Buffy the Violet Slayer (haha, very cute, wet n wild) to do a purple into blue gradient on the pinky.

I wish I could have done something more special for the concert, but I didn't have enough time. They deserve a super cool design though!

Spider shell

Today's design is based off of this tiny pumping spider that I saw on Facebook several months ago. I HATE spiders, but this little guy looked, dare I say, cute?! And the design on its "shell" made me think of nails, but when am I not thinking of my nails honestly!

I put down two coats of white polish before using two coats of Wet n Wild's Spitfire. It has a neon quality to it, so the white brought out the bright color and I didn't have to use as many coats of the orange.

I used white paint to frame out the nail and did the vertical and horizontal lines. Top coat.

Roses on Leopard

This design was based off of a scarf (shown below) that my mom got my sister and I while in Scotland. The scarf has sort of a leopard print on it so I thought I'd do a leopard print with roses on top.

I used two coats of Sinful Colors' Smokin which I really love. It goes on smoothly and I don't own a dark grey like this.

I used black acrylic to paint on the leopard print as well as acrylic for the pink roses. Top coat to finish it!

Marble Heart

Last, late Valentine's nails on Mardi Gras!

Here's two coats of Sinful Colors' Gogo Girl with a water marbling of Unforgettable Moments' Platinium and Gogo Girl. I bought this silver at Payless a few years back and I haven't seen the brand anywhere else.

Platinium ended up taking on a shimmery purple tone because of the classic red it was marbling with. I thought it would be a solid silver and red, but I love this result much more. With a toothpick and top coat, I applied black glitter pieces onto my middle finger in the shape of a heart. I felt like I needed glitter on another nail as well, so I placed glitter onto a line of red that was showing.
